About
I'm Jasper Vail, a voice narrator with roots in engineering and the theater. After 15+ years in the SF Bay Area tech industry — leading cross-stack teams through large-scale system migrations and AI enablement, most recently architecting Model Context Protocol infrastructure for unified AI tooling — I bring real working knowledge into the booth. When a script mentions a technology, chances are I've used it.
My voice is mid-baritone, grounded, and at home with technical detail. I narrate Python documentation the same way I narrate a memoir about a difficult diagnosis: with respect for what's being said and for the listener who's going to hear it.
On the theater side, I came up through Shakespeare and contemporary plays — Bottom and Malvolio on one end, The Laramie Project and Bug on the other — and have served as Board President for a performing arts center, translating between artistic vision and organizational strategy.
I'm also openly neurodivergent and queer — useful lived context when a project calls for it, never a costume. I volunteer with Out In Tech's Digital Corps, building websites for LGBTQ+ organizations worldwide.
When I'm not narrating, I'm tending a hobby vineyard and multi-use family homestead in Napa — orchard expansion and pollinator meadows — or building small tools that make life easier for other ADHDers.
Subject-Matter Expertise
Domains where I work, study, or live. Pronunciation, pacing, and emphasis come from understanding.
Software Engineering
Python,
asyncio,
threading, and
multiprocessing.
Type systems, API design. Code is my daily working
vocabulary.
Software Engineering
Go, C#, and microservices design. Comfortable across stacks and across the migration patterns between them.
Practice
Orchard botany, soil and site analysis, pollinator planting. Botanical names land correctly the first time.
Career & Coaching
Hiring, career change, neurodivergent work design. I've lived this material.
Arts & Operations
Performing arts board governance, audience-development copy, and fundraising appeals. Native vocabulary for arts-nonprofit operations.
Also comfortable: AI/ML primers, DevOps and cloud architecture, queer history, ADHD/autism non-fiction.
